"Mages" by Ngai Hung Ng

The scene shows a battle between 4 mages/wizards. The figures are modelled using polygons. The terrain uses a terrain map (an array containing height values as its elements) composed of multiple sinusoids to achieve hilly look. Gentler parts of the terrain (i.e. polygons with vertices of approximately similar height values) are coloured white to simulate snow. Motion is achieved using control variables that control figure position, angles of limbs, colour, light position and intensity, camera position and reference point. These variables are controlled using a combination of keyframing, cubic interpolation, custom parametric functions. The custom functions include kinematics equations that control the trajectory of the flying figure, sine waves to simulate the white figure's cape's motion in the wind and customized paths.
